Today’s show starts with us talking about a magical hiking trip in the Columbia Gorge to see waterfalls which leads to “no-shoe” guys and then we introduce the Nike Air Jesus. We have spoilerific review of Daredevil. Then some more book and zine talk including: Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency by Douglas Adams, The World is Big Enough Without You and Let’s Wreck Their Precious Perfect Little Town by Julia Eff, and Lasterday by Trace Ramsey. Erica discovers a whole new world with reusable menstrual cups.
The first 30 minutes are heavy on language and lets be honest. Kevin comes off stupid while Erica schools him. Hawkeye and Captain America have to apologize for Avengers interview. A new Star Wars trailer is released. Kevin reviews Hitman: A Rage in Arkham by Garth Ennis and John McCrea. We sum it up with speculation on the Batman vs. Superman trailer.
This episode includes bra health (or lack thereof), gnomes buildin ball shelfs, more bathroom behavior, Aquaman’s dark years living under the women’s bathroom, and Terry Pratchett. Erica is back with “Erica’s Reading Raallphs” talking about The Creation of Patriarchy by Gerda Lerner and poetry by Trace Ramsey. The Habit RPG app is reviewed. Kevin introduces the card game “Boss Monster” and we end it with Robert Downey, Jr. and the Collective Project.
Erica shines brighter than ever with a negative star review of Gone Girl, articles in The Economist, and Orphan Black. Kevin comes up with an insulting name for the female version of going “commando”, tells terrifying stories of the robot uprising starting with your vacuum, bar music manipulation, toilet whistling (or whispering), Captain America and Star Lord Super Bowl bets and more. Our faces were hurting from laughing.
Well it wasn’t lost, but the audio cut out so bad that it can’t be posted. My fault (Kevin) as I should have been monitoring the whole time.
We’re back. In this episode we give a lengthy review of the The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies (26:00-46:04) and Erica gives book recommendations for The White Queen by Philippa Gregory and Saga by Brian K. Vaughan. Other things discussed include Krampus, Santacon, Bananacon, banana phone, Napster, 90s internet, bulletin board systems (BBS), Kevin annoys everyone with his hover board, Sony hack and more. Thanks for listening!
