On December 28th, Kevin’s brother died, suddenly, in a motorcycle accident. So many of my interests, books, movies, TV, music and more can be directly connected to him. I’ve been struggling to find a way to express myself so these podcasts are dedicated to his life and how much he influenced me through arts and entertainment. I talk a lot in the beginning in a kind of “eulogy”, but you can skip to 22:00 if you wish not to hear that portion.
Eulogy, Red Dwarf, Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, The Ruburns

If you had an intro song what would it be? Erica and Kevin have their answer (and then a more honest answer). Erica has lots of feels for a new anime, “Yuri On Ice”, which leads to a long geek out about marching band and drum corps memories. We finish it off with a gushing review of Blank Panther.

Do you remember listening stations at record stores? Soundscapes at Target? We sure do. Try not to have a foodgasm as Erica talks about the anime Food Wars. Kevin reviews Ready Player One for another episode full of 80s nostalgia. Then we sit down with Dark Knights of the Round Table to discuss Justice League.

LUKE CAGE! It’s a long one, but I didn’t want to cut anything out. We were on point. So much from the DCMU, The Flash, and LUKE CAGE!! No anime, but a big Reading Rainbow segment where we talk about Monstress by Majorie Liu and Sana Takeda, The Snowden Files by Luke Harding, Pretty Deadly by Kelly Sue Deconnick, The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl by Ryan North, and She Wolf by Rich Tommaso.
